Memory Café at The Bear

September 6th, 2012

On Tuesday 4 September, I visited the Memory Café at The Bear, Wellsway, Bath. It was very well attended with plenty of experts on hand including staff from Alzheimer’s Society and the Carers’ Centre to provide information, a listening ear and support. It was such a friendly group and as well as giving a talk about Dementia web Bath and North East Somerset there was an opportunity for members of the group to navigate the website on my laptop. It generated plenty of discussion, with several people stating they were going to look at the website when they got home.

If you are interested in going to the Memory Café, it takes place on the first Tuesday of the month from 2pm – 4pm at The Bear, Bear Flat, Bath, BA2 3AQ. For more information contact Sharon Sorungbe on: 07795 355056.

Only last year the Department of Health warned that these drugs may cause other medical conditions to get worse. Stephen Adams, Medical Correspondent for The Telegraph disclosed that statistics published recently showed a reduction in the use of these drugs, however certain areas of the UK still need to address this very important issue.
